Agriturismo in a hilly location, at the heart of Tuscany

This agriturismo is on a hill (about 485 metres above sea level) in the Chianti Classico region, right at the heart of Tuscany, between Florence and Siena.

The agriturismo consists of a villa and a former barn, which used to be an old hospital. Both stone buildings are surrounded by gardens, olive groves and vineyards. The two holiday apartments offered here are in the former barn and each apartment has its own separate entrance. The apartments have a rustic interior, with stone interior walls, ceiling beams, handmade clay floor tiles, wrought-iron beds and antique furniture. For technical reasons, Internet access is only available outdoors, near the main villa and pergola, and not in the apartments themselves.

Outside there is a swimming pool for the shared use of all guests, open from May to September, with a sun terrace, a table tennis table and a barbecue. Each apartment has a car parking space.

The owner lives on site. Pets are allowed on request. The site spans around 42 hectares. The section of the site of around 10 hectares that the properties are on is enclosed. There are dogs and fowl on site. The agricultural enterprise produces olive oil and wine grapes and various kinds of fruit are cultivated.

The agriturismo is the ideal starting point for visiting Tuscan art cities such as Florence (about 27km), Siena (about 30km), Lucca, Pisa, San Gimignano, Volterra and the characteristic places in the Chianti Clasico region, e.g. Greve, Barberino Val’Elsa, Radda, Gaiole, Tavarnelle, San Casciano with their churches and abbeys, castles and fortifications, country houses, villas and farmhouses. The agriturismo is between the medieval village of San Donato (about 3km) and Castellina (about 6km). In San Donato you can find some grocery shops, a little supermarket, a pharmacy, medical practices, two banks, a post office, a petrol station, wine shops and a Museum of Farming Culture. In San Donato and in Castellina there are various restaurants, tavernas and guesthouses. There are golf courses and tennis courts nearby, as well as riding and fishing possibilities.

This holiday apartment of around 70m² is on the ground floor and has a bedroom with a double bed (160 x 200cm), a bedroom with two single beds (80 x 200cm), a bathroom with a shower, a big living and dining room with a sofa bed for two people (150 x 200cm) and satellite TV, and a kitchen equipped with a gas stove, oven, toaster and fridge with freezer compartment.

Outside there is a big, private garden that is not fenced, with a 4 x 3.5m pergola for dining outdoors. Enjoy the unforgettable panorama. Owing to the outdoor lighting, the garden can also be used at night.

    “Een fijne vakantiewoning op een heerlijke plek voor mensen die even de drukte willen ontlopen. Groot erf / tuin, mooi zwembad, voldoende privacy en uitzicht op het prachtige Toscaanse landschap. Vakantiewoning is netjes en schoon in authentieke stijl. Eigenaren Andrea en Martina zijn erg hartelijk en tot alle hulp bereid. Als er een minpuntje moet worden genoemd is het de weg naar San Silvestro toe. De verharde weg gaat halverwege over in een steile en ongelijke onverharde weg, arme auto's.”
