The house is situated in Häljebol, just one and a half km away from the river.
This fantastic courthouse was designed and built by Sweden's state architect, Sigurd Westholm, in 1908. One of Värmlands most unique and distinguished county houses it represents beautifully the National Romantic style of the time. On the ground floor guests can enjoy the splendor of the old courtroom, a sitting room, two bedrooms and a lovely large modern kitchen with access directly to the front and back garden. Upstairs there is another fully equipped kitchen, four large bright bedrooms, all furnished with traditional Swedish antiques. The living room features a TV, DVD, PlayStation and cupboard with books and games for children and adults. Guests are also free to use the wireless ADSL connection and PC. A cot, high-chair, changing table and safety gate are provided for visitors traveling with small children. There two nice bathrooms with shower and WC upstairs, and a WC and a bathroom with shower and WC downstairs.
The house is surrounded by a large garden with open fields to the rear and walks in the forest just a few minutes away. A large barbecue, eating area, comfortable garden furniture, games and trampoline can be found in the garden. Two bikes are available to use.
Visitors can enjoy a choice of locations for bathing, walking, canoeing and fishing. The river is just 1.5 km from the house. Guests will be impressed by nearby Björnöflagen Lake (2.5km) here you will find a sandy beach and the beautiful quiet bay of Älvik, ideal for small children. Just offshore are numerous small islands that can be reached by boat. Many other small lakes are within a few kilometers of the house. Guests are welcome to use the rowboat moored in Älvik bay. Häljebol''s central position on the Viking trail means that visitors are able to explore long stretches of the waterways, and visit the Viking mounds, museum and authentic Viking village in Nysäter. Between Häljebol and Nysäter lies Gillberga nature reserve, an ideal place to catch a glimpse of many rare birds in a unique and protected habitat. Glaskogen nature reserve is a rambling wilderness of woodland, hills, marshland, streams and lakes that lies 15 km north of Häljebol. There are a multitude of lakes to choose from for fishing, walking or canoeing around in this area. Overnight shelters are also positioned near some of the lakes. The distances to other interesting places which you can reach from here are: Säffle-25 km, Arvika-40 km, Karlstad-60 km, Oslo-200 km.
