Holiday house in a quiet but central location in the Winterberg hiking and winter sports region
This two-storey holiday house is part of a semi-detached house and is centrally located in a quiet residential area in Schmallenberg Westfeld. Westfeld is a tranquil little locality (federal gold village) at the foot of the Kahler Asten and is between Winterberg and Schmallenberg. The (still young) Lenne flows right past the house. The house was built in 1960 and was last renovated in 2006.
The holiday house of around 110m² can accommodate up to eight people and has a comfortably furnished living and dining room with a pull-out corner sofa, a coffee table, a large TV, a lovely decorative fireplace, and a large table with chairs for all guests to sit together sociably. The large living room is on the rear side of the building right by the little river Lenne. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, a ceramic hob, a fridge with a freezer compartment, a dishwasher, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, two coffee machines and a dining table with chairs. The house has three bedrooms each with a double bed 180cm wide. Two of the three bedrooms also have an additional single bed (90cm wide). The owner can provide two children’s beds, a highchair, board games for all ages and children’s toys free of charge. The two bathrooms are each fitted with a shower, toilet and washbasin. On the ground floor there is also a guest WC with a toilet and washbasin. All the rooms have heating and Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.
The upper floor provides access to the ca. 40m² sunny roof terrace, from which you can hear the Lenne babbling. You can also use the little terrace with a garden shed and a seating possibility next to the house. There are four private outdoor parking spaces right in front of the house, which you can use free of charge. Pets are allowed for a fee.
On payment of the local tourist tax you receive the Sauerlandcard, with which you can use many amenities and services either free or at reduced prices (e.g. free use of all public transport in the whole Hochsauerland). Bed linen and tea towels are included in the rental price. You need to bring your own hand and bath towels.
Owing to the immediate vicinity of Winterberg (13km), the winter sports resorts and ski lift carousel Altastenberg and Neuastenberg (just 7km away) are easy to get to by bus or car. The express bus that runs hourly between Winterberg and Schmallenberg stops 100 metres from the house. It is convenient for getting to the ski resorts in winter, without having to contend with crowded car parks. In summer the Rothaarsteig and various trip destinations nearby are within easy walking distance. You can also walk to a supermarket with everyday items such as bread etc. Right next to the house, just 30 metres away, there is a very cosy farmer’s café. There are also two excellent restaurants within walking distance (100m and 300m). The locality itself has the Westfeld cross-country skiing centre with a ski chalet and trails, some of which have snow cannons.
