This holiday accommodation is a renovated old building in Casale di Pari, a village that belongs to the municipality of Civitella Paganico and lies in the province of Grosseto. Casale di Pari is a small mountain village at 470 metres altitude in the Tuscan Maremma, with just 150 inhabitants. The apartment has a ground floor and an upper floor. On the ground floor there is a living room with a fireplace and a kitchen unit. On the first floor there are two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a double bed (170 x 195cm) and a single bed (80 x 190cm), the other has a double bed (170 x 195cm) and a cot for a child of one to two years old. The bathroom with a shower is also on the first floor. The apartment can therefore accommodate up to five people and a toddler (up to two years old). The apartment provides tea towels, bedlinen and hand towels, as well as heating in all the rooms. The living room provides access to the large private garden. In summer, the owners are happy to accompany you free of charge on walks in the area, or to show you how to cook a traditional, Tuscan dish. There are public parking spaces available nearby. Casale di Pari lies on the road that links Siena and Grosseto. It is 30km to the south of Siena, just a short distance from the Petriolo thermal baths, about 40km from the sea, and very close to Monte Amiata. The absolutely peaceful village is surrounded by forests with oak, stone oak, and chestnut trees, with animals such as wild boar, deer, hares, foxes, squirrels, pheasants, skunks, weasels, wild cats, owls and falcons. There are shops 100 metres away and a restaurant 200 metres away. In the Farma Valley, not far from the village, there is a small lake (Stagno della Troscia), which is the habitat of the Alpine newt. A couple of kilometres from the village, in the middle of the forest, you can find Belagaio, an old knight’s castle, which has been held by various rulers on account of its strategic location in the Val di Farma. Casale di Pari is at the centre of an area that is of cultural interest and also attracts visitors on account of its unique nature. It is easy to get to the old Etruscan towns such as Vetulonia, Volterra, Roselle, Murlo, medieval towns such as San Gimignano, Montalcino, Massa Marittima, and the large, famous cities of Siena and Florence. The Farma-Merse nature reserve, Monte Amiata and the Maremma nature reserve are also within easy access. Casale di Pari is located in the Montecucco wine-growing region. In the region there are many wines with famous names, such as Brunello di Montalcino, Morellino di Scansano, S. Antimo and Monteregio di Massa Marittima. Every year, on one of the first two weekends in October, the Porcini Mushroom Festival is held in the village. The Farma and Merse rivers and the warm water of the Petriolo thermal baths (3km) will be your swimming pool. Swim outdoors in the cool water and the unspoilt surroundings, or relax in the warm thermal water.
