Pleasant Holiday House in Gluiras with South-Facing Terrace and Great View
This holiday house is in a wonderful location on a south-facing slope at 710 metres altitude, at the heart of the regional Monts d’Ardèche nature reserve. It affords a lovely view of the wildly romantic Glueyre valley and the nature characterised by rocky recesses hewn into the granite. The house is in a terraced chestnut forest more than 200 years old. It is accessed along an asphalted track, which is a cul-de-sac. It is far away from traffic noise and amidst nature, so you can enjoy complete peace and quiet. The only inhabitant is the owner of the house. A restored stone house on a south-facing slope, in a very quiet location of the Glueyre valley, in the Monts d’Ardèche nature reserve
The south-facing terrace in front of the house is bordered by a railing and is pleasantly in the shade of a kiwi bush. It provides a table, garden chairs and deckchairs. You can have breakfast here, sit together and enjoy the sunshine and the great view.
The stone house dates back to the year 1342 and has been carefully restored by the owner, who lives in the other wing of the semi-detached house, combining modern fittings with the traditional features of Ardèche farmhouses. The house has a separate entrance and provides 100m² of space for seven people. In total there are three bedrooms with two double beds and two single beds. There is also a sofa bed in the reading corner. The comfortable living room comprises a lounge area with a fireplace, a dining space, a reading corner with books, magazines, games, a TV and a DVD player, and an open kitchen that is fully-equipped. You can also grill in the fireplace. Wood is provided. The bathroom has a shower, a double washbasin, a WC and a washing machine.
The whole area around the house is freely accessible, so you can set out from the house on extended walks or mountain bike tours. Route descriptions are available. You can swim in the nearby Glueyre River. It is worth visiting the Wool Museum in Ardelaine. The river and the town are just ten minutes away.
Free wireless Internet access is available. The house is let out all year round and is rented by the week. There is a second holiday house (see description no. 840643) on the same site. Each of the two houses has its own entrance and terrace, so they are completely independent and provide privacy.
