The stone house is in a quiet and peaceful area in Zavala, surrounded by few houses, so it is ideal for those seeking tranquillity. Zavala is a little fishing village with about 200 inhabitants and is on the sunny south side of the island of Hvar.
The stone house in a typical Dalmatian style is over a hundred years old and has been completely renovated. Two holiday apartments are offered, one on the ground floor and the other on the first floor.
The sea along the magnificent pebbled beaches is a crystal clear blue and the nearest beach is just 300 metres away. The nearest grocery shop is 150 metres away. The inhabitants of the picturesque Dalmatian village make a traditional living from olives, wine, fishing and recently also tourism. Owing to the preserved architecture of a typical Mediterranean village, Zavala provides peace and quiet, as opposed to the hustle and bustle of modern life. There are no hotels or other town noise nearby. Zavala is connected to the northern part of the island of Hvar via a unique tunnel 1.6km long. This Pitve-Zavana tunnel was originally built to bring water from the south to the north, it was not intended for transport, but until recently it was the only road access to Zavala. There are some restaurants and bars in Zavala. There is no disco, the nearest is 7km away in Jelsa, or 30km away in the town of Hvar.
