Quaint stone house in the countryside with a shared pool and a playground, near the famous vineyards and the “Route des Grands Crus”
This quaint stone house is quietly situated at the heart of the little village of Saulon-La-Rue in Burgundy, seven kilometres from Gevrey-Chambertin and 15km from Dijon. It is surrounded by an 800m² enclosed plot of land with a playground and a pool. The owner lives on site.
The 19th-century house has been carefully renovated. Warm, harmonious colours, exposed wooden beams throughout the house and plenty of wood exude a cosy atmosphere. It provides 85m² of living space, spread over the ground floor and the upper floor, and can accommodate four people. The 45m² of space on the ground floor comprises the living and dining room and an open kitchen. The living room provides a comfortable suite in front of the fireplace, as well as a TV, a DVD player and a stereo system for entertainment. Adjoining this there is the dining space with a big wooden table and chairs for six people, followed by an open kitchen unit. The kitchen is modern and fully-equipped with all the necessary appliances, such as a fridge, a big freezer, a microwave, a stove and a dishwasher. The ground floor also has a separate toilet, as well as a cupboard and a coat rack. The upper floor has a library, a small office area, along with two bedrooms and a bathroom. The first bedroom has a double bed 140cm wide with a cupboard. The second bedroom has two single beds 90cm wide and a wardrobe. The individual exposed beams on the walls provide beautiful accents in the bedrooms and the warm colours help to make guests feel at home and to ensure a good night’s sleep. The bathroom has quality fittings and has a bath and a second WC. Of course the house provides wireless Internet access.
In front of the house, in the courtyard with a remote-controlled entrance gate, there are two parking space. Adjoining the house there is a partially roofed terrace with a sitting area and a grill. There is a playground for children with swings and a climbing frame in the enclosed and beautifully planted garden, next to the heated pool measuring 8 x 4 metres, which can be used from April to October, depending on the weather. Between the pool and the terrace there is a lovely sun lounging area with deckchairs. The courtyard, the pool and the garden are shared by holiday guests and the owner.
There are three restaurants in the locality, of which one is in the immediate vicinity. The nearest shops, such as a baker, butcher, grocery shop or kiosk, are about three or four kilometres away. There are other shops within eight to ten kilometres. Nature lovers can go on beautiful hikes or cycle tours along the canal. It is also worth visiting the vineyards and the forested, hilly surrounding area.
