Welcome to Castres in the Tarn department! The "Maison de Jeanne" gîte is located in the main Domaine de La Laugerie building, which also includes another 2-bedroom gîte in the other building.
The gîte adjoins the owner's home.
It sleeps 11 very comfortably, with 5 bedrooms (4 doubles and one triple). The gîte covers an area of 180m2.
You enter the gîte directly into the large dining room with fully-equipped open kitchen (fridge, oven, dishwasher, microwave, filter + Nespresso coffee maker, electric barbecue), counter and high chairs, large table (up to 14 place settings), crockery.
A few steps lead up to the living room with sofa, armchairs and TV.
On this level is the Bohême bedroom, bed 160x200, private bathroom (bath, washbasin, toilet, washing machine) and separate toilet.
Upstairs are the other bedrooms:
- Voyages room, two 90x200 beds that can be twinned to form a 180x200 bed
- Loulous room, three 90x190 beds. These beds are also suitable for adults.
- a large bathroom with walk-in shower, washbasin and toilet.
- chambre Italie, two 90x200 beds that can be twinned into one 180x200 bed, private bathroom (Italian-style shower, basin, wc).
- chambre France, two 90x200 beds that can be made into one 180x200 bed, private bathroom (Italian-style shower, basin, wc).
Bed linen is cotton percale. In winter, comforters in all bedrooms. New bedding.
The pool is secured with shutter and barrier (8.5x4.4m, 1.5m deep). The pool is shared. Boules, ping pong, board games. A dining area, garden furniture, deckchairs and sun loungers are available in the garden.

We're located at the gateway to the Sidobre, at the very tip of the Massif Central, a granite massif where you can wander among the paths of wonder, legends and the chaos of La Rouquette... and there's no shortage of walks, including from Domaine de La Laugerie. Children love night-time strolls with a guide.
Castres is a city steeped in history. Great names have made Castres history: Pierre de Fermat, the famous mathematician, Marshal Soult, Saint Emilie de Villeneuve, canonized by Pope François, Jean Jaurès, whose birthplace it is, Pierre Fabre (the eponymous laboratory), the conductor Georges Prêtre, Abbé Pistre, the "Pope of Rugby", Laurent Jalabert, Laurent Cabrol or the sons of the land, the Synapson group, whom the younger ones adore...
On April 15, the Musée Goya reopened after two years of renovation. The museum houses Europe's largest collection of Hispanic art, a feast for the eyes.
In Castres, lovers of architecture will find the town full of magnificent town houses: the Hôtel de Poncet, the Hôtel de Nayrac, the recently renovated Eglise Notre-Dame-de-la-Platé (just magnificent, a must-see!), the Cathédrale St Benoit, the jardins de l'Évêché. Discover also the houses on the Agout and their history, the coche d'eau... Treasure hunts are on sale at the Castres tourist office for a fun family visit with the kids.
Not far away, in Mazamet, there are other wonderful discoveries: the footbridge that spans the Montagne Noire 70m above the ground, the picturesque medieval village of Hautpoul... a must-see. In season, night-time visits. Just down the mountain, discover the Lac des Montagnès with its tree climbing, inflatable games on the lake in summer...
For sports fans, you're in rugby land, where it's a family affair. The town fervently supports the Castres Olympique. There's plenty to do: swimming (and water slides) and most water sports, ice-skating, horse-riding (many riding schools), hiking...
Further afield, you can discover Albi and its monumental cathedral (a UNESCO World Heritage site), Carcassonne for its ramparts and fortified town, Castelnaudary for its famous cassoulet, Revel and its Lac de St Ferréol, the starting point for the Canal du Midi...
