The ecological aspect played a major role in the renovation and mainly old building materials or natural materials were used (natural stone, wood, clay plaster, wood fibre insulation). An alternative holiday home for nature-loving people who value ecology and sustainability and who appreciate the charm of such a house.
The "Alte Backes" (former village bakehouse) is part of the listed village centre in the "half-timbered village of Mehren".
The house is designed for 2 persons and has a total of 70 sqm living space with a large living room, an eat-in kitchen, a hallway, a bathroom (WC, shower, bathtub, washing machine, dryer) and a bedroom upstairs. In addition to modern wall and underfloor heating, there is a wood-burning stove for cold days. The house is fully equipped and should leave little to be desired.
Outside there is a small garden, a covered veranda and a terrace with parasol, garden chairs, loungers and table. In the warm season, an outdoor rainwater shower is in operation in the garden.
Live in the middle of an extensive hiking area in a beautiful rural location. The "Westerwaldsteig" leads directly along the house and the "Naturregion-Sieg" and the "Naturpark Rhein-Westerwald" are only a few kilometres away.
