Apple Barn Cannewitz
The apartment I built in 2018 in a historic barn (1869). The natural materials (granite stone, wood in the attic), I as completely preserved and combined with new building materials. The furniture is high quality and modern (fireplace, bulthaup kitchen, underfloor heating, Italian Cotto tiles, oak parquet). If possible, I used to set up their own material (own oak wood for the stairs, its own ash wood for the table, granite stones and clay tiles for terrace wall). The granite massif house I have outside and inside sandblasted completely. Thus, it looks like newly built.
I inherited the barn, the farmhouse and grounds in 1994 by my grandparents. Since then I develop all the elements of the farm on. As a former nurserymen I have a large collection of apple trees in old varieties on the plot planted (200 trees in 50 varieties). In the barn I have installed a fruit wine press and an apartment in the 2018th In October 2018 I first made cider from apples of customers and own apples and apple cider. With my cultivation and marketing of apples in old varieties and the wines produced from apple juice I am supporter of Slow Food Germany and belong to the Convivium Lausitz. Close relationships also exist Biosphere Reserve Oberlausitzer heath and pond region.
The house I built ecologically and environmentally bewirtschfte it. The insulation is carried out according to the current standard. I use green electricity from sustainable production of Greenpeace Energy. As an alternative to underfloor gas heating there is a fireplace, with which you can heat the whole apartment. The electrical appliances have an A ++ energy standard, flush the toilet has a water stop button. Where possible, existing materials were obtained or used their own materials. The next public Verkejrsmittel (bus) is 400 meters. I separate consistently refuse.
The Apple Barn Cannewitz is 10 km from Bautzen and 35 km from Görlitz located in the beautiful Upper Lusatia. From here you can take very good bike and hiking. There is a low mountain range in the south on the border with the Czech Republic and a heath and pond region in north toward Spreewald. For children there is a dinosaur park and a maze in Kleinwelka (15 km) and for adults the historically very interesting cities of the Upper Lusatian Six Cities, Dresden (60 km), Leipzig (170) Prague (190 km), Wroclaw (200 km) and Berlin (210). The art and culture is richly represented in the Oberlausitz, not least by the Slavic minority of the Sorbs.
