The teacher’s apartment in the old school "Alte Schule Kirmutscheid"
The "Alte Schule Kirmutscheid" is situated in the core area of the nature reserve Obere Ahr-Hocheifel, which protects the rare meadow landscape and the water system of the Obere Ahr. The stand-alone location on a promontory by the edge of a forest, next to the church from the 15th century and the historical parish house, guarantees a beautiful view and seclusion. It is less than 10 minutes aong the B258 to the Nürburg ring and 8km to Adenau.
As was typical in the past, the teacher’s apartment is on the ground floor of the house. To a certain extent you have to do without contemporary comfort, as the house cannot be converted to current standards due to the strict heritage protection, as a monument to the way of life of past generations. The other floors are not used. The apartment comprises three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The bedroom has a double bed (160 x 200cm), the adjoining bedroom has a single bed (100 x 200cm) and the third also a single bed (80 x 200cm). Four people can therefore be accommodated. The lounge provides a dining corner, sofa, satellite TV. The bathroom is fitted with an antique china bath from the Gründerzeit, with missing parts replaced by contemporary fittings. The kitchen is equipped with a stove and oven, fridge, a full set of tableware and cookware, a toaster, coffee machine, egg boiler and kettle.
The apartment has a generous outdoor terrace facing south that is fully enclosed and offers a view into the distance. From there, natural steps lead down to the river and the grill area.
Nature and hiking enthusiasts, as well as lovers of authentic historical buildings will enjoy it here. Waymarked walking paths leads right past the house.
