Leisure and relaxation in a detached A-framed house with a view of the embankment on the North Sea coast

This detached A-framed house with a large site is not on a holiday estate, but on a cul-de-sac in a tranquil residential area on the outskirts of the little village Misselwarden. The community is in the Wursten area that belongs to the Cuxhaven municipality. The accommodation affords a view over the surrounding fields as far as the embankment and is between Bremerhaven and Cuxhaven, near the coast.

The interior was newly refurbished in autumn 2014, is flooded with daylight and elegant, meeting contemporary standards of comfort. The living space of 65m² provides everything you need for a relaxing North Sea holiday. The house has a ground floor tiled with a wooden veneer, comprising an open, cosy living and dining room with satellite TV and a sofa bed, and an integrated, fully-equipped kitchen. A bathroom with a WC rounds off the lower floor. Wooden stairs lead to the living space on the upper floor, with two rooms: the bedroom with a little French double bed 140cm wide and a reading room with a beautiful view of the embankment and the passing cruise ships and container ships from Bremerhaven. After a day trip you can relax in the living room on a suite, with the flatscreen TV with satellite channels providing entertainment. The fireplace stove exudes pleasant warmth and a cosy atmosphere. The little kitchen enables comprehensive self-catering with a fridge with a freezer compartment, a stove with a four-zone ceramic hob and an oven, a dishwasher, a microwave and a washing machine. Plenty of crockery, glasses and kitchen utensils are provided. The bathroom is fitted with a bath with a shower screen, a washbasin, a window and a WC.

The glazed external door leads out directly onto the terrace and into the garden, which affords a wonderful view of the North Sea embankment about a kilometre away as the crow flies. Owing to the peaceful location with a garden, which can scarcely be looked into from the neighbouring sites, you can enjoy peace and quiet and relax completely especially in the evening. Plenty of seating, a grill and a fire bowl enhance the atmosphere of well-being, so you can get away from everyday life on a short getaway or a weekend trip. You can park your car directly on the 800m² site by the house.

The North Sea coast and the embankment are only 10 minutes (ca. 2.8km) away by bicycle. The two boat harbours Wremen and Dorum are also nearby (4 and 6km), with fresh crabs and delicious fish, as well as shops such as supermarkets and bakeries, along with various restaurants. If you would like to relax, you can go on long walks on the embankment, observe nature or go on walks on the tidal flats. Many farm shops could be visited on bicycle trips to purchase dairy products, jam or fresh vegetables. There are many worthwhile trip destinations in the area. It is about a 20-minute drive to Bremerhaven (21.2km) with a good range of shops, such as the Mediterraneo, a shopping mile in a Mediterranean style, with cultural highlights such as the Klimahaus and the Auswandererhaus, or the lovely zoo by the sea. It is worth seeing the old fishing harbour that draws visitors with all kinds of maritime delicacies. There is also enormous container harbour with its impressive size and at high tide you can even see the giant containers from the terrace at the house. It is about half an hour to Cuxhaven (35km), with quite a tranquil centre and a more touristy beach area. Various seaside facilities and hotels ensure vibrant streets and a maritime atmosphere in the main season. The “Alte Liebe” here is recommended, from which you can admire the ships to and from the direction of Hamburg, and the old fishing halls that now house a range of shops and restaurants. Other destinations include the centre of Bremen 55 minutes away (85km) or Hamburg (156km) within two hours for a day trip.
