There are also activities for people interested in culture. Zwettl and Melk Abbeys, Ottenschlag Palace, the Rappottenstein and Lohnbachfall Castles are worth visiting. This region is ideal for cross-country skiing in winter. There are other activities such as winter hiking, ice skating, tobogganing, and sleigh riding.
