Sechs Ferienhäuser, in einem ruhigen Landgut gelegen, ideal für Familien oder den romantischen Urlaub zu zweit - Gewinner des 2017 Swansea Bay Tourism Award

Diese sechs Ferienhäuser befinden sich auf dem Grundstück eines bewirtschafteten Landgutes. Dieses ist in einem ruhigen Weiler in einem Tal in Südwales gelegen. Das Landgut befindet sich am Ende eines langen privaten Feldweges. Alle vier Ferienhäuser sind Teil eines rechteckigen Hofes bestehend aus mehreren Gebäuden.

Das Landgut liegt an dem pittoresken Bachlauf River Clydach, welcher durch das 100 Hektar große private Grundstück fließt. Es steht den Gästen frei, Ausflüge und Spaziergänge auf dem Grundstück zu unternehmen. Spazieren Sie zum Beispiel durch einen Eichenwald mit Blauglöckchen oder genießen Sie, im Schatten der großen Buchen auf der Rasenfläche des Innenhofes, Sonnenuntergänge mit Blick auf weidende Schafe. Ein Grill ist auf Anfrage verfügbar. Jeweils drei Parkplätze sind pro Ferienhaus vorhanden und befinden sich nur wenige Meter von der Eingangstür jedes Ferienhauses entfernt.

Das vorhandene W-Lan können Sie kostenfrei nutzen. Der Vermieter stellt Ihnen außerdem kostenlos einen Hochstuhl sowie ein Babybett auf Anfrage zur Verfügung. Außerdem hat der Vermieter eine Sammlung umfassender Informationen zu Region und touristischen Sehenswürdigkeiten zusammengestellt. Diese finden Sie in jedem Ferienhaus. Des Weiteren finden Sie in Ihrem Ferienhaus einen Wanderführer für Wanderungen auf dem Grundstück durch Waldstücke, Ackerland und Hügelflächen mit Blick auf die walisische Landschaft.

Obwohl das Grundstück etwas abgeschieden und ruhig gelegen ist, sind lokale Einrichtungen schnell zu erreichen. Ein Supermarkt und ein Pub mit sehr guter Küche sind nur wenige Minuten Autofahrt entfernt. Bis zum Stadtzentrum Swanseas fahren Sie ca. 20 Minuten mit Ihrem Auto. Mit dem Auto gelangen Sie außerdem schnell zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten Südwales. Unter diesen finden sich das bekannte Höhlensystem National Showcaves of Wales, einige der beeindruckendsten Wasserfälle des Neath Valleys, den Brecon Beacons National Park, die Städte Swansea und Cardiff, sowie einige Schlösser und Museen. Die Strände der Gower-Halbinsel sind ebenfalls schnell zu erreichen.

Contemporary 'Upside Down' Cottage on Historic Country Estate

Ty Gambo holiday cottage is situated on a beautiful and historic estate in the South Wales countryside. The back garden leads into a woodland and hillside areas beyond with wonderful views of the surrounding area - Swansea Bay, Brecon Beacons National Park and the Bristol Channel. The front of the property looks out over the farmyard through which the River Clydach flows. Despite the peaceful and secluded setting, the property is in a perfect location for seeing all of South Wales's must-see attractions. The village of Pontardawe is just 2km away and the city of Swansea an easy 20 minute drive down the valley. The M4 motorway to London is just 10 minutes from our farm holiday complex.

The back garden is for the exclusive use of guests at Ty Gambo. There is an old wall (look for the magic stone tree built into the wall!) which houses a permanent BBQ and Pizza Oven. The farm walk passes through the farmyard and there are wonderfull walks through a private bluebell woodland. Guests are free to enjoy over 100 acres of private grounds.

This property has been renovated to a very high standard, winning the best self catering accommodation at the 2017 Tourism Swansea Bay Awards. It is unusual in its configuration - the bedrooms are downstairs and the living space is upstairs. Guests enter the cottage from the back garden and into the kitchen-diner. The kitchen is very well equipped with high quality appliances. The cottage is modern and minimalist in style. The open plan kitchen-diner has seating for 6 and opens out into a lounge area with 4K HDTV with Freesat and plenty of comfortable sofas for 6. There is a coffee table that displays historic artefacts found beneath the fields of the surrounding farmland which gives the cottage a unique sense of place to complement the modern style of the decor. There views of the woodland and farmyard from the lounge. There is a WC and hand basin upstairs. The holiday cottage is very cosy - it is heated by renewable biomass energy, is insulated with local sheep's wool and holds a Gold Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme. The master bedroom is very spacious and has a wardrobe and king sized bed. At the opposite end of the property there are two twin bedrooms with two single beds in each. All beds have bedside tables and reading lamps. Between the bedrooms, there is a stunning contemporary wet room / bathroom with walk-in rainforest shower, stand alone bath with waterfall taps, a basin and WC. There are Welsh themed artworks throughout the cottage.

The holiday cottage is situated right at the heart of South Wales most famous attractions - the Swansea Valley is a gateway into the Brecon Beacons National Park where you will find amazing castles, caves and waterfalls. The Gower Peninsula is also easily accessible - many sandy beaches and the UK's first area of outstanding natural beauty. The market town of Neath has a covered market with local produce. There are some great museums in Swansea and the Welsh capitol city of Cardiff is a very easy 45 minute drive / train ride away from the cottage. There are enough world class attractions available to keep a family going with daily activities for many weeks!
