Discover the charming Ruby Charm Houses, a unique retreat in the heart of Porto that blends tradition, history, and hospitality.
Established in 2015 by a visionary mother-and-son duo, this project was born out of a desire to preserve and revitalize an authentic slice of the city: the picturesque "Ilha Cardoso," a cluster of 14 traditional houses. With a thoughtful and sensitive approach, the duo restored the neighborhood, ensuring that the four families who originally lived there could continue to call it home, now with improved living conditions.

The remaining houses were carefully transformed into tourist accommodations, offering visitors a truly immersive cultural experience.

By staying at Ruby Charm Houses, guests have the chance to connect with other travelers as well as long-time residents, experiencing the genuine essence of Porto’s "ilhas." This is a place where the past and present intertwine, creating unforgettable memories for everyone who visits.

Located near the Faria Guimarães and Marquês subway stations, in the city centre, this property allows you to be in the town hall in a couple of minutes. Here you'll be able to enjoy the bustling life of the city while relaxing in a countryfield like environment.

BORDERS SERVICE RULES At check-in all foreign guests have to fill in the SEF forms with the name, date of birth, country and ID number. This is a require of Portuguese authorities and for security reasons. Since 2015 Portugal has more strictly enforced long-standing law requiring anyone to provide accommodation for the entry, exit, and identification details of all non-Portuguese nationals who use that accommodation. This law has been brought into force in Portugal and most other EU countries at some point since the gradual implementation of the 1990 Schengen Agreement that aims to stop human trafficking and other illegal practices. In this case, it is specifically Article 45 of the Schengen Agreement and the recent Local Law in Portugal that has brought this rule into sharper focus. For this reason, all guests of every reservation need to show their passports, so we can collect the required information.
