The Azure Window, Fungus Rock and the Inland Sea are great spots for sightseeing and for swimming which these 3 popular spots are especially enjoyed by diving in the deep blue sea to see the natural flora, the stunning caves, the chimney and the great quantity of different of fish . Boat trips are available at the Inland sea to visit the lovely surroundings.
On the Fungus Rock a medicinal plant grew only there and in the old times many people who had sick relatives crossed with a cable car to get the precious plant. As time gone by, the rock was then guarded day and night by the Knights and so no one could get near the Fungus Rock. There was a family who lived in the village of Gharb and one night, the father of the sick child went by his boat sailing from one point to another and then climbed the rock and got the medicinal plant for his son. He got back home with the Fungus plant for his son to get cured. He was very happy as he thought that the Knights didn’t see him but the day after the Knights came to his home and accused him of climbing the rock to get the plant so they arrested him for breaking their rules! Nowadays the Fungus Rock is not guarded and is enjoyed by many locals and tourists especially scuba divers diving around the rock.
From the village of Saint Lawrence you can walk through the paths of the countryside to enjoy lovely views of the sea, greenery of fields and most of all you will see the Ghajn Ghabdul spring which is named after a Turkish man who was on board a battleship at Dwejra Bay. In the dark night he escaped and began walking away from the shore. In the morning he was spotted by the local farmers and they reported to the battle ship as those onboard were looking for him and so they captured him and they chained him all alone in a field room. Ghabdul began digging for water with his chained hands day and night as he was very thirsty and luckily water began streaming were he drank and drank endlessly.
